Kanan Films is a full-service production company founded in 2011 by a team of expert producers united by the goal of serving high-quality services for film, photo and video production in Mexico. THE OBJECTIVES

For a few years until September 2024, the Kanan Films website had been having trouble positioning on the first pages of Google for production companies in Mexico. Even with them being the industry leaders in their zone (the Mexican Caribbean), it was almost impossible to find them organically online. After a thorough analysis of their then-existing website and their competitors, it was evident that they needed a strong refresh that connected the dots between portraying their bold and friendly personality, their decade-long industry expertise and their strong power to tackle any production task out there. With this in mind, the project was divided into three phases: the analysis and strategy development, the website redesign and the monitoring and refining.

THE RE-DESIGN

The design was first fully prototyped in Figma and then built into WordPress.  The brief was crystal clear: Kanan Films has a HUGE portfolio and years of expertise. Their video and photo materials are enough to build their credibility and position them among the top players in their industry. They are also kind, fearless, bold and love making their clients feel a part of the team. Their website needed to work as a unique portrayal of their creative power and showcase their trajectory with pride and explicitness. 

THE SEO OF IT ALL

Although the branding and UX/UI design play a huge part of the SEO, the key aspect of the strategy was making all these elements work in conjunction to feed the search engines with everything they are looking for in a well-positioned website: text, functionality, speed, accessitibility, performance, and valuable content. All the pages were designed with a mobile-first framework and were adapted for full responsivity across devices, as well as highly optimized for top performance and speed. 

THE RESULTS

kananfilms.com will continue to grow and position itself on search engines. After only a month of launch, it had already achieved a 600% increase in its organic traffic, which indicates that the strategy for organic positioning is working and will have fruitful results in the ROI of Kanan Films.
